This painting is dedicated to the artist’s mother, whose love transformed every act into something beautiful — even those acts as simple as washing and hanging out diapers. It really is love that makes every vocation beautiful; without it, the most challenging and skill-testing work is cold and empty. With love, the meanest labours become a passionate – and truly noble – sacrifice for the beloved. Such actions are always truly beautiful, especially when carried out with an unselfconscious humility and the unpretentious charm of a practical perspective.
