Fourth edition of the international short film contest. Zanussi president of the jury. After the success of previous editions, the Rimini Meeting Film Festival, an international short film contest, comes back for its forth edition, organized by the Meeting in collaboration with Made Officina Creativa, the School of Visual Arts of New York, the School of Cinema, Television, and New Media of the Foundation Civic Schools of Milan, and by Best Movie, the most popular movie magazine in Italy.
As in previous years, the Meeting Film Festival is partnering with two other events: the Encuentro of Madrid and the Culture Carousel in the Polish city of Swinoujscie on the Baltic Sea. (More information on these two events will be published soon).
This competition is for all those who love the world of cinema and like to tell stories and film reality through a camera. This is a great opportunity for expressing your creativity, to deepen your passion for cinematography, to improve your skills in this art, and put your talent to the test. The competition does not have a specific theme and is open to filmmakers of every age. If you have a brilliant story in mind, a screenplay that is original, intense, full of suspense, heartbreaking or happy, real-life or fantasy, if you have the dream of a movie, this is the time to take up the challenge and do it.
Selected short films will be invited to participate in the award ceremony that will take place during the 2011 edition of the Meeting.
As always, the movies will be viewed by a jury of international experts. The president of the jury for the 2011 edition will be renowned director and producer
Krzysztof Zanussi (read his biography), a frequent guest of the Meeting and one of today’s great masters of Polish and international cinema. He follows previous presidents Pupi Avati and Alessandro D’Alatri, directors, and Gigio Alberti, actor.
Awards for the best films include a ten-week course at the School of Visual Arts of New York, an internship at the School of Cinema, Television, and New Media of the Foundation Civic Schools of Milan, and ten subscriptions to the magazine Best Movie. A full list of awards will be available soon.
